Kamilah Kashanie (she/her), is the Managing Producer for Brands content at Pineapple Street Studios. Kashanie's love for journalism is rooted in her desire to understand what makes us who we are. As a storyteller, she aims to start conversations that make lasting impacts in underserved communities and give a voice to those without a platform.
Before radio, Kashanie studied musical theater and classical vocal music at performing arts schools around New York City. A proud New Yorker, Kashanie brings her Brooklyn roots into every situation where it's applicable (which is often). If professional and ratchet were two roads, Kashanie would be at the intersection, directing traffic.
Formally an Associate Producer at Sony Podcasts on Somethin’ Else’s narrative non-fiction team, and StoryCorps, the oral history archival project. She's also a graduate of the Transom Audio Storytelling Workshop, the host of Feeling My Flo, a reported podcast about menstruation from LWC Studios, and formerly hosted the StoryCorps Podcast.
In her rare free time, Kashanie enjoys indulging in frozen yogurt, knitting, and manifesting rich-auntie vibes to the children of her friends and siblings.
